Two First National Bank Team Members Honored with Statewide Excellence in Banking Awards
Hamilton, AL – The Alabama Bankers Association has recognized two outstanding professionals from First National Bank with top honors at the 2025 Excellence in Banking Awards. Ashley Palmer and Dalton Lawson were each selected for their exemplary contributions to the banking industry and their unwavering commitment to excellence, leadership, and service.
Ashley Palmer – 2025 Outstanding Leadership Award
Ashley Palmer, a key leader at First National Bank of Hamilton, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Leadership Award. This prestigious honor is awarded to an individual who not only leads but inspires—someone who empowers others, builds consensus, and drives innovation through vision and empathy.
Ashley played a critical role in guiding the bank through a successful and difficult core system conversion—one of the most significant and complex projects a financial institution can undertake. Her leadership went beyond strategic planning; she focused on people, creating a supportive environment where every team member felt heard, valued, and prepared.
From developing custom training resources and leading collaborative planning sessions, to maintaining open channels of communication with staff, vendors, and board members, Ashley’s leadership ensured both a smooth technical transition and a cultural one. Her efforts significantly enhanced the bank’s operational efficiency and set a new benchmark for collaboration and change management within the organization.

Dalton Lawson – 2025 Branch Retail Associate of the Year
Also honored this year was Dalton Lawson, who received the 2025 Branch Retail Associate of the Year Award. Known for his exceptional customer service and team-oriented mindset, Dalton has become a cornerstone of First National Bank of Double Springs branch.
During the bank’s recent core system conversion, Dalton went above and beyond to support both customers and coworkers. He personally assisted elderly clients in adapting to the new mobile banking platform—sometimes spending hours to ensure their comfort and confidence. Internally, he created clear training tools, led peer-to-peer sessions, and fostered a culture of support and shared success among his colleagues.
Dalton’s positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to connect with customers on a personal level have made a lasting impact on the bank’s community and internal team.
